Maennerchor Hall architectural detailsThe growth of the Maennerchor during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries convinced the organization to construct a new building for its headquarters. A site was purchased on the northwest corner of Illinois and Michigan Streets, and Adolf Scherrer was hired to design the new facility. His plans included architectural details that reflected the Gothic Revival style of the building. Maennerchor Hall served as the home for the Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis from 1947 to 1970. It was torn down in 1974.
