Festival Guide for the Eighth Saengerfest of the Indiana Saengerbund, 1883

The Indiana Saengerbund held its eighth Saengerfest in Indianapolis on September 6-9, 1883. Singing societies from Aurora, Richmond, Fort Wayne, New Albany, Lawrenceburg, Lafayette, Terre Haute, and Evansville joined with the Indianapolis Maennerchor, Lyra, and Liederkranz societies to present a series of concerts. Alexander Ernestinoff, director of the Liederkranz, served as the director of the Saengerfest, and Carl Barus, director of the Maennerchor, assisted him.
