University Library Guide to Giving Give Now

Donor Recognition Honor with Books Book Donations

As part of a public university, we receive some state funding. However, private individuals support the programs and initiatives that allow us to be on the forefront of academic libraries. With your help the University Library can make projects happen, support on-going programs, and provide for the University Library’s future. Whether you’re interested in advancing the collections or helping students, your interests can benefit the University Library.

The University Library has identified four primary areas of need:

Faculty helping student

Unrestricted Fund:

Unrestricted gifts support special projects and opportunities for students, community outreach, as well as professional development for faculty and staff. Contributions to this fund help the library address current needs and priorities.

Collections Fund:

The Collections Fund helps build the library’s range of research resources. This includes books, journals, and electronic media such as online databases.

Through the generosity of donors to this fund, the library has been able to acquire some rare and unique resources like the Artists’ Book collection held by the Herron Art Library.

Student Opportunity Fund:

This fund is designed to help students grow and succeed at IUPUI through programs that enhance the services and activities of the University Library. Donations to this fund currently support the annual atrium sculpture competition and the diversity scholar program. As the fund grows it will also support graduate assistantships and professional development for student employees.

Friends of Joseph and Matthew Payton Library:

The Joseph and Matthew Payton Philanthropic Studies Library prepares individuals for lives of service through a wide range of materials that inform the study and practice of philanthropy. A contribution to this fund supports the work of researchers, students and nonprofit professionals through collection development and online tools like PRO—Philanthropy Resources Online.
