The Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) University Library (http://www.ulib.iupui.edu) seeks a creative and energetic individual to serve in a tenure-track position as liaison to the nationally ranked Kelley School of Business at IUPUI.
This librarian is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with faculty and students in the business school, as well as other hybrid degree programs encompassing skills and topics from the business field. Responsibilities include designing and implementing instructional strategies and materials, developing discipline-related collections, providing research consultation to students, faculty, and staff, and enhancing faculty awareness of trends in scholarly communication including Library related services.
Ranked 5th by U.S. News and World Report in “Up-and-Coming National Universities,” IUPUI is an urban research and health sciences campus with 20 schools and 250 degree programs. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to student success, the potential to fulfill the requirements for promotion and tenure, the ability to work effectively in a collaborative organization, and an understanding of IUPUI’s mission, “to advance the state of Indiana and the intellectual growth of its citizens to the highest levels nationally and internationally through research and creative activity, teaching and learning, and civic engagement.”
- Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited Library/Information Science program.
- Educational background in relevant field.
- Experience with business research tools/databases and information literacy instruction.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results in a collaborative work environment.
- Experience with reference consultation and services.
- Experience with collection development.
- Familiarity with digital transformation processes and scholarly communications issues.
Minimum salary is $46,500 with additional funding for professional development and travel. Benefits include 22 vacation days, 9 paid holidays, health/dental insurance options, and retirement contributions of 10% to either TIAA-CREF or Fidelity plans. A start-up package includes $10,000 for moving and additional professional development expenses.
